Call for Abstracts
Thank you for your interest in presenting at the North American Offshore Wind Conference & Exhibition. This year's conference will feature more presenting opportunities than the past AWEA Offshore Wind Workshop, including a track for offshore supply chain issues. Following the success of last year's poster presentations, this year's conference will also feature several poster presentations and an opportunity for these presenters to interact with attendees. Both podium and poster presenters will be selected through a careful review process. This page contains the following information about submitting an abstract: Process Timeline Abstract Submission Deadline Monday, May 17, 2010 Abstract Review May 17- June 14 Notifications* Between late June to early August *Notification of abstracts that are not accepted occurs at a later date in the event that any openings occur in the program. Please do not contact AWEA before this time as it will delay the process. Presentation Submission Deadlines: Primary Criteria:
A diverse group of reviewers from different sectors of the offshore industry will be reviewing the abstracts. They will look for the following criteria when reviewing:
BEFORE YOU BEGIN YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION:
1. Complete name, title, company, address, phone and fax numbers and email address for the primary author (presenter). 2. Speaker biography for the primary author (presenter) of no more than 150 words. 3. A list of co-authors' names and their organization names if applicable. Step 1: Choose an issue, technology, project, research area, or topic that is relevant and informative to the offshore wind energy industry. Step 2: Develop a well-written, concise summary of your proposed presentation. See below for a list of the primary criteria that will be used in the selection process. Text of abstract should be no more than 250 words. You will be able to upload supplemental information (i.e. Word or PDF document with graphs, charts, etc) Step 4: Choose a preferred presentation method - Podium Presentation or Poster Presentation. Step 5: Select which track or topic category your abstract belongs – Business, Policy, Technical/Scientific, or Offshore Supply Chain. This year’s conference will include 3 concurrent tracks. Step 6: Keep a copy of your abstract text. Step 7: Submit an abstract online. Fill out all appropriate fields; abstract submission process will not be completed without including all required information. You will not be able to edit your abstract once it’s submitted.
