Supply Chain Focus at the North American Offshore Wind Conference & Exhibition

Fully integrated into the North American Offshore Wind event will be an entire program track and related exhibitors and side meetings on the Supply Chain aspects for offshore wind project development in the U.S.  At this critical stage of project development and permitting, it is equally critical to begin examining the needs, opportunities, barriers and challenges to manufacturing, transporting, and constructing off-shore wind turbines.  The Supply Chain track will build on AWEA's great success with previous Supply Chain Workshops that have focused on land-based wind turbines and the turbine manufacturing, component manufacturing, transportation & logistics, and service needs for that part of the industry.

Supply chain issues for off-shore wind turbines include manufacturing and component supply issues as well as turbine installation and other construction/service vessels, as well as ports, harbors, laydown areas and other infrastructure needs.  Lessons learned from the oil and gas drilling industries in the U.S. and especially the European experience with offshore wind project development need to be applied and adapted rapidly for the U.S. off-shore wind energy industry.

The North American Offshore Wind Conference & Exhibition will bring a focus on off-shore manufacturing, transportation & logistics, and infrastructure issues for the first time in North America.  This focus will be critical to moving forward in this aspect of off-shore wind project development once initial projects in the U.S. have been approved and permitted.  This event will be the first dedicated event to bring together exhibitors and attendees from all over world, who are interested in becoming players in this new and highly promising market.  Participants in the U.S. wind energy industry supply chain will not want to miss this event !!
